I will be updating the tree's after every PPV. PM's will be sent out after the monthly PPV and then you guys have a couple of days in which to reply back to me.

Then you can make any changes in your opinion. I would also ask for short reasons as well, so if anyone asks why they were moved, I have the reasons in front of me. No name shall we attached to these reasons if I give them out, so you can be as honest as you like.

However, if you want, you can post here saying why you felt "X" should go up/down a level(s). Otherwise it will just be anonymous. The choice is yours.

This enables me to save a monthly record, by PMing you all, rather than trawling through numerous posts here. Hopefully, come Born in Fire 2013, we will have a good record of who moved where during the year.

Can you let me know if there is anybody missing as well please.

For instance Cobra is Ascension Champ but I wouldn't have him above level 3
It depends on the plans to move people across feds but that's how I see things

I think it's a good idea to have a tree of promoers and a tree of characters. If people disagree, so be it.

I like Marky's idea as well as this

Yeah I think it would be very good IF people understood it was a guide not for cheap pops. Like I said in the OP, it is just a way of judging where people think you are and where you can improve. I don't want it to cause arguements.

I disagree and think it should cause arguements because we haven't had a proper one over here yet. Just needs one to be fully initiated

is it promoing ability or promo regularity?

I did mine on a bit of both, two people who I rate normally I put right at the bottom because I couldn't remember the last time they'd promo'd

Both.

Way I see it, promoing regularly increases promo ability. I do think people get better over time.

However, I do think "ability" is the wrong word. It is more how much people enjoy to read that person's promo's, getting over the message clearly that they are trying to convey and carrying on a storyline through weeks of promos.

I think that should be clear to see as the tree will be updating after every PPV. If people aren't "enjoying" the gimmick, then you will be able to see by a lower ranking. Then you might want to rethink where your character is going (perhaps).

Bottom line is I REALLY do see this as a way to see what people think of your character. Instead of saying "Promo up. Thoughts?" on TT every time a promo goes up. By doing it via PM people can be more honest rather than saying anything negative on TT.

I think it's alot more constructive than 'Top 5 Promoers'.

Mixing regularity and how well the character is portrayed is a bit squiffy though. Some people simply can't promo as much as others. so to even take that into account is a bit off. BD can't promo as much as say Bull cos he is busy with his family life and work. Dicey has a new job? I think so he can't do as many as say I can. So I don't see how that is a fair way of judging things.

I get the whole going by how well they portray the characters bit, but on that. Some people have had their characters for like 4 or more years. Some for about 4 minutes lol if someone doesn't know a character inside out after 4 years then they never will?

Also personally I have never ever asked for feedback from anyone other than BD and BeerMat/JJ. I know others who don't I don't really "NEED" it to know if I am going well or not. Cos if I am BeerMat and JJ are more than observant enough to see the work I am putting in to the character or not as the case may be and they will move Goldman or Logan up or down where they see fit.

Maybe I just don't like the whole idea of knowing what everyone thinks of everyone else. Someone could just have a dislike for characters or promoers and therefore rate them lower than they maybe should. Or vice versa

I would have BD level 1 any day of the week. Only because I know his writing ability when he is really involved. But that's because 1 I know him well enough to have seen it first hand and have elements explained and things and 2 he is my friend so I WOULD hold him in higher regard than someone I don't really know as well.

I also may be over thinking it all. I tend to do that. And with a headache this all adds up to a mighty pain in the side of my head

And Lee....it is up there for discussion mate. It is not a done deal. If people are uncomfortable then I will just do the normal tree. I will leave it up to the admins and popular opinion to decide. We have a few weeks yet before it gets updated

I was a little sceptical at first about all this, however I do find it interesting what other people think. I have been thinking also and I do agree that this is probably more valuable feedback to people rather than perhaps asking on TT as TwisT said earlier. If anything it should make people motivated to nail it not to dishearten or make people feel the world is against them.

Makes me really proud also to see what others think of my promo's and being level 2 is really a nice feeling and I'm really grateful to everyone. It will also only make me more determined to smash into level one!

I don't want to dampen anyone's parade, but only 4 people sent me Promo Tree (and I did one myself).

I need to make that clear because if more people do it next month, and people's ratings suddenly drop, I need them to understand why.

I will do one next month for sure. You should told me the deadline TwisT! (or did you?)

Yeah, a few posts down from the OP. Don't worry though Olly. I am glad you are taking part, so adjust your tree accordingly over the course of the next few weeks of happenings in 6WF. I will PM everyone before an update from now on.

Absolutely bud. Looking back, As I said before it's probably far more constructive and positive than asking opinions on TT and I think you have found a really nice, gentle and cool way of gaining feedback from others which I salute you for! as long as it's anonymous and your own opinion then why not.
