Minutes of this evening's discussion.
Evening everyone,
First and foremost, thanks to those who contributed, I'd like to think what was discussed yielded productive results and it's also encouraging to see that despite people going AWOL or leaving, that we still have a core of people in the federation that want to take part and keep things going.
There were a couple of key points to come from the chat and these are as follows:
This is the main jist of what was discussed - feel free to discuss further below or throw in any other ideas. We welcome your input (well, I do anyway, I'm too fresh in the job to hold any disdain for any of you!)
Thanks again for the participation,
Sainty

There were a couple of key points to come from the chat and these are as follows:
- We're to have a month long break after Born in Fire, I'm sure we all knew that anyway but most importantly, we need to stay active on the site so that it looks busy to potential new members.
- We're going to create a presence on E-Fed Knights and RoughKut, to advertise what we do, gain a bit more exposure from the e fed community and hopefully attract new members into the fed - which we all agree is vitally important.
- When we resume normal service (though, when are we ever normal?!) Lockdown is going to move to a Monday, thus allowing people more time to promo at the weekends if they are tied down in the week. I should add that this isn't concrete as of yet and is open to be voted upon if there's a number of those who would rather another date. Though most seemed to be for Monday's.

Re: Minutes of this evening's discussion.
I appreciate that I'm not making any suggestions of my own, but I am still worried that places like E-Fed Knights and RoughKut aren't going to bring in the fresh members we need, anybody one those sites is on them usually because they're already in e-fedding, in addition most are in e-feds that are almost unrecognisable from 6WF in terms of the length of writing (promo-wise) and the way matches are presented. 6WF is very much a unique e-fed (apart from the offshoots like 6CW) in this way. I don't think there will be many people who will sign up from those sites, their style is often incompatible with 6WF, particularly in back and forths.
I think there needs to be a link up with a place that doesn't have an e-fedding presence already but is likely to have people interested in it. I'm not suggesting 606v2 before people think that's what I am getting at, I know that is not going to happen and think it would be unfair on 6CW anyway. I still think there needs to be a source of fresh members from which to draw from or we risk running into the same issues 3 or 4 months in the future.
I appreciate that some will be annoyed that I am not making suggestions myself and I'm sorry I wasn't able to make this meeting, was writing a huge essay for the deadline today so couldn't make it.

Re: Minutes of this evening's discussion.
i think we said during meeting that going back to v2 or another sports forum wouldnt be much help. even when we were on v2 it was the same faces that are here now with very few new faces coming in.
you just have to look at the last few threads that jj has put up to show thay there is little interest there these days in this sort of thing. alot of those in 6cw came from outside the board and from jj's previous venture or those deciding to have a second go.

I'm not saying going back to V2, but 6WF thrived in the first place from the 606 boards, without them it wouldn't have took off at all and it thrived because of the near constant influx of new guys coming in. The point is in the past, there would be 3 or 4 every month, now only 1 would stick around for a period of time, but the issue is that now we're getting less than 1 a month and relying on that one person to stick around. The problem is that we're isolated, V2 also has similar issues of isolation hence why there wasn't a wide group of people to draw from.
I'm not sure where we look, but some popular wrestling forums without any e-feds might be a good start to try and get a presence on.

Re: Minutes of this evening's discussion.
thats why we were talking efed knights and roughkut.
a lot of forums who want an efed have one and those that dont just arent interested. hence why a lot of feds have there own stand alone sites like we do here
they tried starting one on ukff a few years back and that soon died a death because there was no interest what so ever in it.

If Lockdown is to be on a Monday, and Saint is in charge, I suggest we go the whole hog and bring back Shutdown

Re: Minutes of this evening's discussion.
Surely the key is how quickly the next card is posted?
If you have a Friday show and post the card straight after this gives people the weekend straight away when everything is fresh in the mind. This also brings up a different question
Do the majority of people really access the site at the weekend?
I haven't studied the trend but from a personal point of view I am less likely to use it at the weekend and more likely to be online during office hours, on the small occasions i've been on at a weekend it doesn't appear that busy
Also on Crimeys point - You could always expand this site so it becomes more of a general forum in the style of v2, a by product of more throughput could be an increase in the roster - Just an idea and it would take quite a bit of effort but i am sure there is room for another web forum

The format would be up to you - It could be wrestling specific and you could advertise to that community
Is there many wrestling community boards out there?

You're not alone there Kenty, it is a bit crazy.
Still it must work for them. Planning to go on there tomorrow now my laptop is working, the sites aren't great on a phone. Hold an United front?
