Naomi House and Jacksplace Charity's
Morning lads,
Shameless, charity plug time!!
On Monday myself and 2 other lads from my office had our legs waxed for Naomi House & Jacksplace Charity.
Naomi House and Jacksplace are hospices for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, which mean that they are unlikely to live to adulthood.
The charity provides care to families and young adults living in communities across the seven counties of Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey, West Sussex and Wiltshire.
The charity has two specialist units, Naomi House for children, and jacksplace for young adults. Each unit is purpose built and offers an appropriate environment for each age group.
It costs just under seven million pounds a year to run the two units. The charity receives around 10% of its funding from the Department of Health. The remaining amount is raised by people and businesses across the region.
Many people get involved by fundraising for the children’s charity whilst other people volunteer their time, each helping to ensure the hospice is able to continue its work.
The support given by Naomi House is unique in the central south. Naomi House is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, delivering a range of services to help to relieve families from the day to day pressures of looking after a child or young person with a life limiting condition.
It’s a brilliant charity, and very local to me. If anyone fancies donating to a great cause please use the link below.
