As Born in Fire goes off the air Kayleigh Reed is backstage filming extras for the DVD release of the PPV

KR: ...and that brings the curtain down on another brilliant 6WF Born in Fire, and what a show it was. We've crowned....

She is cut off mid-sentence as somebody walks through the shot

KR: Exucse me....We are filming here....oh Jimmy, hi

The camera pans around and we see a dejected Jimmy Phillips

KR: while you're here, we're filming some extras for the Born in Fire DVD. Have you got anything to say to the 6WF universe about what we've just witnessed?

JP: what exactly do you want me to say?

Kayleigh looks taken aback

JP: Listen, there's nothing to say. As far as I'm concerned there was only ever one match on that card that I cared about. The battle royal for the vacant Acension Championship, a title that I thought I could win. But no, once again for the second PPV running I've had my chance and failed to win the gold.

KR: I wouldn't sound too unhappy Jimmy. I mean there's still time. You've been here what, two months? In that time you've become a fan favourite, you've proved to be one of the most powerful guys on the roster. It's not like you won't get another shot at it

JP: Maybe. But I feel there's something missing. When I first started I was 'the Talent'. Who am I now? Just another name on a roster. I gotta get my act together and quick.

KR: Well I know you don't really want to talk about it, but I have to ask. What are your feelings toward the new Acension Champion?

JP: Listen, so long as it's not Dubois or Scorpion then I suppose that's something. But in all honesty unless the title is around my waist then I honestly couldn't give a damn

KR: Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But there's a number one contenders match next week on Acension, unfortunately you're not part of it

JP: I can't say I'm surprised. I haven't been happy with my performances as of late so why would management?

KR: I think you're being a little critical of yourself

JP: Maybe, maybe not. I think the only thing we know with certainty is that I need get back to my best. I need to show everybody why they call me The Talent, why I know I am The Talent, and why The Talent is a future champion, now I got a flight to catch.

Phillips walks out of the picture as Kayleigh goes back to work

Be Myself blasts through the speakers the crowd give a mixed reaction as Lex Hart bursts through the curtain, Lex is wearing the scars of a brutal match up at Born in Fire but he is grinning from ear to ear

PS: This man put on quite a showing at Born in Fire

JT: You’re right Paul, he came up just short on becoming our new AWF champion, but I think in some way he came away a real winner

PS: Indeed Jeff, Lex showed everybody just how good a wrestler he still is and I for one think he still has so much to achieve in this business

JT: Born in Fire gave us lots of memorable moments and the entire Ascension locker room can be proud that they played such a big part in putting on the biggest and best show of the year!!!!

Lex tags hands with the crowd as he makes his way down the ramp; he walks up the steps and salutes the crowd tapping his heart as he looks round the arena

PS: There are still a few doubters in the 6WF universe, they have seen this man reformed act from Lex before

JT: Yes Paul but you have to admit there has been no doubting his commitment. Lex has given 100% since he came back, people may not completely trust him but he has definitely re earned there respect.

Lex is handed a microphone

LH: Ladies and gentleman tell me now if you have ever seen an event better than Born in Fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The crowd start to cheer

LH: 6WF at its very best, match after match, moment after moment. From the first minute to the very last, awe inspiring, edge of your seat, BAH GAWD HE JUST BROKE HIM IN HALF, best damn show in the business. 6WF it doesn’t get any better than that

Lex is shaking his head in excitement, stomping around the ring like Ric Flair

LH: JJ - Our paths never crossed on the big stage and for so long our ideology was so far apart but I need look no further than your broad shoulders when I want to see what it takes to make it here in 6WF.

It’s not the amount of gold
It’s not how many matches you have won that has this entire crowd, hell the entire world on their feet shouting your name

What matters most is that from your first breath to your last you gave everything for this business. Above everything you put 6WF first

I went to Born in Fire hoping for redemption but I stand here before you now having witnessed something much bigger

At Born in Fire a torch was passed, one era ended and now another shall begin

I am not standing here claiming to be the next JJ. For one I can’t dance for toffee and my rhyming skills are whack (Lex winks). But I have been inspired.

On Friday night I witnessed the entire world on their feet having seen probably the greatest example of a will to succeed ever.
Against all the odds, not just against probably the craziest SOB in this business but against all the advice of the doctors, the pleas of loved ones you gave it your all for these fans, to give them one more moment, to free 6WF from the reign of fear, the tyranny. And once again you succeeded. Once more you saved 6WF.

You are an inspiration to millions but for me you are a sign of what can be achieved if you believe.

JJ there will be words written about you for many months to come, sadly I can not call you a friend but I hope that as you sit and recuperate at home with your new family you will see that you have left 6WF in good hands

Lex drops the mic and walks to the top of the ramp, the crowd are applauding and once again a JJ chant fills the arena

As Lex reaches the top of the ramp he turns to the crowd and gives the ASC salute before walking backstage

Just as Lex is about to disappear backstage “Ascending Malice” hits over the arena to rapturous boos from the crowd, Lex stops in his tracks as Chris walks out and smirks at Lex who has a slightly confused look on his face

Chris: Well just when I thought you couldn’t stoop any lower Lex you come out here a play up to the crowd on how great JJ was, drinking up all of the peoples love for him and using it for your own ends…you make me sick

Chris spits at Lex’s feet whose demeanour goes from confusion to anger in a matter of seconds

Crowd: YOU SUCK

Chris: Oh did I hit a nerve there Lexy, look at you, you don’t give a shit that JJ has left you are secretly ecstatic inside to see the back of Choc Ice as am I, its just a pity that he retired before I could take the title off him, the minute JJ said goodbye you like most of the others backstage were rubbing their hands at the possibilities of what this place will be like with no JJ around hogging the limelight, the possibilities of how far people can climb now that another one of the old guard has walked away, to be honest when I was backstage and listening to JJ’s farewell speech I got tingles…not because it was a brilliant address to his millions and millions of morons but because I know now that my crusade against this company and the people that run it has been made that little bit easier, that with their cash cow walking away oh how McGraw and the others would be feeling it, scrambling around looking for a suitable replacement to fill the gap, but you see they had a guy that was ready to step up and already had….ME

Crowd: Booooooooooo

Chris: I was already the guy, I already stepped in to fill the gap the last time JJ decided he was too big for this place and I ran with the ball and won the fans over and got my title but JJ returned and…well you know the rest of what McGraw and the BoD did to me, you see it has all become a little bit clearer to me now, they didn’t want Chaos in the big seat they were building it all up so their prodigal son could take up where he belonged but look at this place now…take a look at the back there is nobody that can step up, Cobra? Well I took care of the myth around him at Born in Fire, Blue Dragon? Don’t make me laugh, you?

Lex mouths “Why not me”

Chris: Why not you…look at you; you are at the bottom of the food chain in the B show, are you for real

Chris starts to laugh in Lex’s face

Chris: The only reason you are in the Title match on Ascension this week is so me, Scorpion and the French ponse have someone to beat up before taking the match seriously, you are a nobody in a place of nobodies, I will be walking out of Ascension as the No1 contender not because I want to be the face of this shithole but because it will kill McGraw to see the belt around my waist when I take it, I don’t care about this place, never have, Im using this dump to get what I want and trust me Lex I WILL GET WHAT I WANT!!!!

The camera cuts to ringside where a group of people are causing a commotion, the camera zooms in and a face from yesteryear comes into view, sat in the front row with an independent mic in his hand.
He’s aged, the clean cut face is replaced by a stubble, a few more flecks of grey mottle his sideburns and a few more lines crinkle up at the side of eyes but the gleam is still there and a wry smile begins to smirk across his face when he sees the camera focus upon him.

He lifts the mic slowly to his mouth and addresses the camera...

Hero: 8 times! 8 frickin times!

The camera zooms in closer and Hero lifts up a ticket for the front row and shows it to the camera.

H: You know who paid for that? Me, Hero. You know why I paid for that?
Because I got no frickin invite, that’s why! A 8 time World Champion reduced to paying to attend the company he, yes HE made famous. Last week was Born in Fire, the highlight of the 6WF calendar year, where dreams are made, where destinies are fulfilled, where hopes are realised and where promises are crushed. Where Hero was the only guy to have attended each and every show since its
inception back in 2007.

Until now!
You know why Hero wasn’t at this year’s event?
You think Hero had got bored of 6WF? You think Hero no longer wanted to be part of 6WF? You think Hero got too BIG for 6WF?
No, Hero was sat at home watching it and waiting for that phone to ring! I’d have gone on first, I’d have jobbed to flippin Scorpion just to have been part of that show, like I’ve done each and every year at Born In Fire I’d have put someone over because I am Mr frickin Born In Fire despite the ‘ooh JJ is God, Cassius is the Best in the World bullcrap that the 6WF Universe try to peddle down your throats’, it’s simply that this face no longer fits the bill, that I’m no longer considered the face of the company, the go to guy, the one that sells t-shirts or posters.

I was told that Hero is no longer considered relevant for this modern day audience!

A fan waves a ‘Logan rules’ banner in Hero’s face which Hero grabs hold off and rips in two before throwing ringside.

Well you know what? Hero doesn’t give a rat’s ass about posters, he doesn’t give a fudge about coffee cups with his face upon them, he doesn’t give a flying fig if his DVD is being outsold by The Saint’s guide to beige cardigans 3 to 1. But what I do care about is this misconception, this false belief, this fallacy that this current generation, this roster, this generation of stars is perceived as the greatest in 6WF history because frankly you don’t deserve to clean my frickin boots nevermind lace them.

I watched Born in Fire 2012 from the comfort of my home, I
saw the guys involved gushing over their performances like they felt they’d put
on a 5 star masterclass. Well Hero has crapped out better matches than some of
these jackasses knocked one out over. Hero has forgotten more moves than most
of these greensleeved doofuses have ever learnt in training and Hero certainly
has more charisma oozing out of every pore than half that locker room combined.

So Hero is going to continue to sit here, continue to buy tickets for the front row, and on that note, face value two days before the show, that’s never happen in Hero’s day, and continue to mouth off until some
jumped pen-pusher with a iron rod up his ass from 6WF headquarters picks up that telephone and calls me up. So bring down your security, have Hero escorted out of the building, have Hero banned from attending, but I shall not be silenced, I shall not be forgotten.

I made this company famous and it’s about time it gave me my dues. It’s about time a few of you faced a big dose of reality as to how far this company has fallen in my absence.
Hero will not be forgotten.

Hero sticks his feet up on the railing, takes a slurp from his fizzy beverage and gestures for the show to continue.

Lex smiles as he circles Patricks, he looks him up and down and then surveys the arena

LH:Chris nobody likes a cry baby, nobody wants to listen to a grown man bitch and moan about how hard done by they are , how it's all a conspiracy, everybody's against them

The crowd laugh

Where did you get all this shit…did Dicey whisper this in your ear when he helped you out in 6CW, well we all know how that worked out didn’t we Lex, you used that stupid drunk like a teenage girl at a frat party, we all know how you use people to get to the top, Perfect Jack, Abe, Dicey and now JJ, well I may be a lot of things Lex but I aint stupid, I know how you work, you are like all the rest of the leeches in this place, the Hero’s, the Chaos’, people who can’t knuckle down and get things done but surround themselves with people that are better than them and drain all the success they can, you are the lowest of the low Lex, always have been…always will be, unlike me, I have worked hard to get to where I am and was, I accepted my part in what happened to me a long time ago, I know I have wronged people in my life that didn’t deserve it but I also know that it was not all my fault and when I’m finished my “kamikaze mission of revenge” as you put it, you will all be singing from my hymn sheet because I have right on my side Lex, something you know shit about so save all your goody goody bullshit for someone stupid enough to believe it

I promise you I am not looking to emulate anybody, I do not wish to be likened to anyone else, nor do I intend to hide behind the shadows of my past

Lex is sat on the floor his face is awash with rage, he slowly gets back to his feet, holding his jaw he shakes his head and heads backstage

Scorpion can be backstage before he runs into Chris Patrick's and then Lex Hart, He begins to smile sarcastically.

S: I saw your little confrontation out there and was just on my way to shut you both up but what better way to do it then do it out here backstage where the rest of the fool's can see.

Scorpion turns to Lex.

S: Now Lex i saw your ‘tearful’ speech out there about JJ Johnson but the fact is your never gave a shit about that man and now suddenly you respect him but you see I know for a fact your doing this to jump on the bandwagon and to try and get these fans to forgive you just like you have been since you returned and as for JJ Johnson's spot only one man can replace him and that man will be me!

Scorpion then turns towards Chris Patricks.

S: I Have no idea why you where given a shot at the title Chris because the only thing you have done is strangled the cobra apart from that you may as well just return back to Lockdown, but then again Jessica needs someone to do her dirty work as Lex would know and well since that’s not me and Dubs is her lovesick puppy it must be you Chris but either way I will make sure I will become the number 1 contender to the title I rightfully deserve to be the contender for.

Scorpion then stares at Lex with a small grin on his face.

S: I all so seem to recall Lex i made sure that you would not gain your chance at redemption and that you where dammed for the rest of your life at Born In Fire, Yes I never won the match but at least I managed to get into your head and break you from the inside Lex and wore you out and made sure you had no energy to face Geoff who happens to be holding my title for a limited amount of time because you see my time will come and when it does I will strike and do you two fool's know why..It's because I love the fear in a man's eyes when I am about to break him, call me sick bastard if you want but I will do anything to make you egoistic assholes realize that it’s time for you to move on and pass the torch to someone who deserves and who else deserves it than the man who is the reason people watch this god dammed awful show!

Scorpion begins to laugh sarcastically as he waits for a reply.

Chris starts to laugh manically and shakes his head in a why me kind of way

Chris starts to laugh as Scorpion moves to hit him

Chris walks off leaving Scorpion and Lex in the hallway

Lex looks on as Patricks walks off down the corridor before reverting his focus on Scorpion

LH: Do we really need to go through this again??

Once again at Born in Fire you proved that you are a non entity, you don't matter but now..... well it doesn't take a genius to work out how you and Dubois find your way into a number one contender match

Lex turns round after Scorpion getting his attention.

Scorpion looks at Lex before sarcastically laughing

S: You think I fear you Lex.. don’t make me laugh you delusional fool I don’t fear you I never have the reason I care so much is because I hate the fact of seeing the veterans return and take the spot light so you can jump straight into the main event but the matter of the fact is that I hate the fact people like you are treated like you’re so special by the “BOD” when you’re not all you will do is get your shot then lose it leave and then come back and then bang your back up there it’s the same cycle every single time , You see Lex my point is you quit this company and then after quitting you returned but that’s not how it works once you quit that’s it don’t comeback, heck look at JJ Johnson the man has retired right but I bet you all the money I have that he will come back and jump straight into the main event as you see Lex the “veterans” just like your self have too big of an ego to see what is round that and that thing is change, but you see I stood for change and I spoke my mind and I had the balls to tell the “BOD” what they were doing wrong and they failed to see that once all these "legends" are gone who will be the man to take the spotlight that's right, no one because of the fact that they never gave any young talent the chance to as the “legends” where bigger then the company, but you know what Lex the BOD knew that I was telling the truth but you see this hurt them and what did they do they covered it up and send me to this shit show where I have still shown that I am still the best new thing and am the reason people watch this awful show.

Scorpion can be seen getting frustrated.

S: You see Lex the thing that makes me frustrated is seeing people like you just getting handed shots just because of your name and what you have accomplished before you left but it’s time for new guys to be given the shot just like me but sure you can claim "none of the new guys have good talent crap" but you see I am one of the last reaming member of NXT and the most successful of any of the young stars from that show , I never won it and I was never expected to be the breakout star but I did it , I made it and showed everyone that I had what was capable, but the thing I learned about being there the most is if you don’t kiss up to one of the “legends” you won’t get anywhere but I proved them wrong and now it’s time for change as I am sick and tired of seeing the same old names headlining PPV when the real reason people watching this show is me and that its time people began to grow there balls and speak their mind for something new rather the same thing over and over!

Scorpion goes face to face with Lex.

S: You can claim you’re not involved in this Lex and that all you are is this spoke on the wheel but the matter of the fact is the wheel will keep turning every single time another legend's ego decides to comeback for more glory and wanting to get more attention of the media because you see all this is a popularity stunt so this company can gain attention for all of the wrong reasons.

S: So for that reason Lex I don’t care if you are the pawn or the king because one by one I will take you all down and make sure people begin to see the truth and that is why if you fear anyone it is the sting from the man you hate the most, As for Tuesday I will walk out the no1 contender and the right man to that title Lex and you better stay the fuck out of my way!

Scorpion can be seen face to face as he waits for Lex to reply.

LH: So you're jealous!!

Scorpion shakes his head

LH: Well clearly something is getting to you

Doctor: Johnny the battle with Cerberus has left you battered and bruised, you need to take it easy

JG: Sorry doc, no can do

D: This isn't a joke Johnny, these injuries will not heel if you continue to push yourself to the limit

JG: Listen doc...I have to push myself to the limit... Can I tell you something?

D: Of course

JG: My father, Howard Goldman... was a wrestler in the early 90s, he almost made it to the big time, in fact he would have...but for an accident that ended his career

D: What was his name?

JG: Tommy Stone...

D: I remember him! I worked for the American Indie feds as a member of the medical team back then, as I recall he was quite the athlete, I see where you get it from

JG: Thanks doc but I ain't fit to lace my dads boots, he would never have lost focus like I did with Cerberus.....

D: Hey you were fighting for what you thought was right, I can't fault you for that...

JG: Thanks doc but I fear I will never make my dad proud....or pay him back for.....

Johnny jumps off the doctors examination table and put's on his jacket.

JG: I know, he is a worthy opponent, but my mind is clear, I am ready to concentrate on winning again...making my dad proud... see you doc.

Johnny walks out the surgery as the doctor looks on concerned as the show goes to commercial
